Brains first in India to get mobile 3D imaging and angiography technology

Eminent scientist Prof C N R Rao launched India’s first center of excellence for stroke and spine at the Brains-Sparsh Neuro Spine Centre on Infantry Road in Bangalore recently. This is the first facility in India to be equipped with the leading-edge Ziehm mobile fluoroscopy machine.

“I am happy that Brains is pursuing the goal of excellence and is bringing in the latest and finest in technology,” said Prof Rao at the event. ” India may be poor but Indians need not get poor treatment.”

Presenting the machine’s advanced capabilities Dr N K Venkataramana, Founder and Chief Neurosurgeon of BRAINS underlined his commitment to delivering comprehensive, gold-standard patient care with state-of-the-art technologies and trusted expertise. Despite the costs “such advanced services”, he said “will be available to everyone who needs it regardless of his financial status.”

Dr. Harsha K J, Endovascular surgeon and stroke specialist demonstrated how the machine can help in removing clots without an ‘open’ surgery. The demonstration by Dr Krishna Chaitanya, neuro-spine surgeon, showed how the technology enhances the safety and sophistication of spine surgery to an all-new level.

Echoing the spirit behind the Centre, Prof Rao said: “The efforts of Brains to make the latest lines of treatment involving the best in technology accessible to everyone is truly commendable.”

The leadership team of Brains including Dr. N K Venkataramana and Mr. Sunder Raju felicitated the highly revered professor.
